this is for sale in the next town. guy inherited it from his grandfather, really wants to get it out of the shop, asking me what it's worth. only 1 reference I could find on google. no opinions given, just that it's a Bridgeport clone made in Taiwan. he also says he has "1 million machinist tools" he wants to sell. anyone ever heard of Euro-mill? looks like the PO set it up to his liking. the control box is interesting. I see on and off switches, not sure what the rest is. maybe it's on a VFD and that's a speed controller? like the air powered draw bar closer.Euro mill2.jpg

I can't speak for that exact brand but I have a 1987 Taiwanese clone that, IMHO, is every bit as good as an original BP.
The machine looks well maintained, some surface rust on the vise but that's no biggie to clean up. What is worth is what someone is willing to give him for it. Around here, it would probably fetch around $1,500.

thanks for the input Eddyde. I'm def interested and he's supposed to let me know when I can look at all the stuff when he gets home but he says no way to get a forklift in the shop to move the machine. in this unpopulated area, there is no one who does machine rigging/moving. I ran into that when I bought my 2nd lathe recently. sounds like it may have to be taken apart and re-assembled to move it. not a thrilling idea. will know soon, I guess.

one thing I learned recently, thru my recent lathe purchase. 3 phase, heavy machines have little value in my area. most people don't want to deal with it.

Taking the table and the head off and lowering the knee make it a lot more stable. You can roll it on sections of pipe. Rent a truck with a lift gate or hire a tilt back flatbed. Easy Peasy.

If it went in , it'll come out . :encourage: A Johnson bar will slide that easily if it's on concrete . You can use pipes if needed . There has to be a door you could get a strap thru and drag it with a truck or car to the door . A winch on a trailer is a very un-expensive way to get a mill up onto a trailer also . Cheaper than renting a drop deck trailer and you'll have the winch for future use .

That'll work ! :encourage:
