this is an idea under construction.:)
i'll just say if you see anything halfway interesting
and it's metal, heavy and the price is right take it home with you!
in california here that kind of stuff is going off to be melted down.

Have A Nice Day!

H-M's
let me expand on this a little.
i blew the deal on a '76 Cadillac El Dorado for $300.
i know i belong in the Hall of Shame.:(
the real drag was after the guy had to clear it
off his business lot he got $600 for it for scrap!
i'm going to pickup anything interesting in the future,
tinker with it and then sell it to somebody that's into it.
it's better than having it scrapped!
it's our American culture.
like i'm not into old outboards but if i see one i'll grab it.

Have A Nice Day!

I did this very thing here in CA. I bought a 1958 Bridgeport for the price of scrap. I just couldn't let it go to the smelter. Now I'm trying to rebuild it.

the state of US manufacturing that's a whole different story.
i'm saying if you see something being sold for near scrap prices
go ahead and get it! you can work 'out of trade' for a little while.
i'm learning with this y block ford. i'm suffering, but i'm learning.:)
also you can sell it to the guy later that's amped on that kind of thing
instead of it gone for good.

the $600/ton is here in california, because we're near 'the port'.
i think it's less in middle america.
at auction selling guy's acres of cars collection no bid cars
were $350 or they scrapped them.
owner must be rolling over in his grave.
he'd say free to treadheads!

Have A Nice Day!

how about if he wants it and anybody you
know is doing the snowbird thing coming to the
desert here with a pickup they can bring it back for him.
i'll practice what i preach!:)
that is what we need a southern california to
middle america and the northeast transportation network.
the enthusiast underground railroad!
etard
i mean go poke around storage yards and carports
and save those near classic.
you know first there was the $600 polluter deal
and now the $600/ton thing.
we need to mobilize!

Have A Nice Day!
