I obtained a second hand emco maximat v10p lathe with milling attachment.

Everything works now after many hours of restoration, except:

forward low speed. With low speed switch selected the motor just humms. If I give it slight turn by hand on the chuck, it starts up fine and also goes into full speed.
reverse low and high speed works fine as well as the milling head.

Therefor the capacitor start is not connected correctly.

I shall be very appreciative for someone to send me a pic such as the one attached so I can see where the terminals should be connected to the switch.

Thanks and Kind Regards

Hi Izak- I don't have the manual but I did find this on Ebay from someone who was selling one
Perhaps you can enlarge it and trace out the wires? Best I can do at the moment

Just found another one that might be more legible: Odd that they don't indicate all the wire colors, yet they give a key

This is what the wiring on my V10p looks like. Also with the 4spd milling attachment. Hopefully there's enough angles here for you to see everything.

Cap is bad.
I found the problem. The bottom contactor of the forward switch was stuck inside, Therefor the cap did not change to the other pole. I opened the switch and released the small switch plate. cleaned and lubricated everything and all is running fine. took a lot of fault finding to finally pinpoint the problem.
