Edge of Top to Lathe

just curious how far away from the forward edge of the surface that your lathe is mounted. I have a G0602 and its centerline of the head is approx a foot in. sometimes I think thats too far away and causes a few back pains from time to time.

Yeah, I could see that causing some back strain. The edge of my chip pan sticks-out only a few inches.

My SB 10L is about 5 inches from tray to bed- but the handles are out hanging over the edge:

Well gents thanks for these replies. Looks like I'll be moving it closer to the edge for sure. Been curious about the placement and did concern myself with the height. Figured a little extra room to the front would make a decent temp catch-all as I worked on something.
