Please e-mail harbor freight customer service to ask for cool tools that they are no longer selliing. It's too expensive for hobbyists to set up all the tooling without some of the Harbor Freight tools they have discontinued.

Here's a few:
Carbide tool grinder
Universal Tool Grinder
they have discontinued a bunch of their lathes and mills
mill and lathe accessories
chucks
clamps
cross slide vices

Not sure if you've noticed but if you do a search on their site it's very sparse now!

Please send e-mail(s) to:
cs@harborfreight.com

Great idea. If enough members do this, maybe we will get their attention. Mind if I post theis request to other forums?
I for one, was saving up to get the tool grinder. I was actually in my local HF when the last 3 went on clearance. I hadn't yet saved up enough to buy one, and they wouldn't let me use a 20% cupon with the clearance price. I asked at the time if it was being discontinued and was told no! And dummy me, I believed them!

I sent the following in an e-mail to cs@harborfreight.com, signed with my name and location.

"Please bring back the tools you have discontinued. Retired folks like me count on Harbor Freight for affordable tools to support our hobbies.

Tools like these:

Carbide tool grinder
Universal Tool Grinder
SEIG lathes and mills
mill and lathe accessories
chucks
clamps
cross slide vices"

Nice! Let's get this fire started... please please please contact them and ask for all the cool stuff they are no longer selling!!!

If you are looking for discontinued Harbor Freight items there is a liquidator on FleaBay selling HF's returns, open box close outs and damaged items. I saw one of their nicer drill presses go for less than $100 because the pulley cover was dented.

Glad you started this thread. Harbor Freight can be a great source for inexpensive tools but you have to be careful what you buy and how you buy it. I visit the store once a month to get the free item they advertise and I never buy anything without a coupon. I recently bought one of their glass bead cabinets. Great cabinet and with a few mods works just as good as the $2,000 Empire one I had. It was on sale and I used my 20% coupon making it less than $150. It seems to me that the system will let you get multiple discounts but Its kind of up to the cashier to enforce it. I bought a air compressor for my dad and not knowing I grabbed one of the paper tags out of the plastic sleeve to take up front that wasn't marked clearance. She gave me the clearance price plus my 20% off coupon. HF digital calipers are great. I bought one for $10 to use for things like scribing lines so I wouldn't mess up my nice ones. I checked it against my Mitutoyo and Starrett standards and its dead on. I went and bought 10 more of them for Christmas presents last year.

Tripletap,

I need to get on your Christmas list.. Actually, I went to our local area store this evening, all I could find for the mill that is coming were some center drills.

Doc

Hey Doc,

I was in the Marine Corps... you corpsman are awesome. Yeah, I really really want them to stock stuff I can grab on the weekends when the other shops are closed. Please send the e-mail they're going the wrong way losing the machinist customers.

Although I have most of the stuff there getting rid of I still send the email I hope it helps. There is still a few things I pick up when I go there.

Paul

I have to watch SWMBO she buys more than I do.
