I have dykem in a dauber bottle that won't come out anymore. How do you clean the top? I tried soaking in alcohol but no joy.

Running hot water might just do the trick , I would do it in the kitchen sink when my wife is not home or not watching:grin:.

I use 91% isopropyl alcohol or acetone to clean up. Drugstore isopropyl alcohol is usually 70%. Lacquer thinner should also work. I use it to rejuvenate dead Sharpies.

I have Lacquer thinner on hand I will give it a try. If the plastic will hold up.

RJ... What method do you use to rejuvenate the Sharpies? Bill W.

On the Sharpie fine point, there was a removable cap. On the standard Sharpies, you can punch a hole in the end with a scribe. A drop of hot melt adhesive will seal the hole. I add two or three drops of lacquer thinner and reseal. Store the the Sharpie point down to allow the solvent to distribute through the felt wick. You can also put some lacquer thinner in the cap and set the Sharpie in the solvent for a few days but this can be messy.

What do you mean it will not come out?
Is it dried up?

Dykem goes bad after awhile and turns almost clear.

Denatured alcohol work well with Dykem when dry.
Used it at work for years.
