Hello all.

Any recomendations for a affordable 3 axis dro system, Magnetic scales. I'm putting it on a mill drill so I will probably need to trim scales to length.
Was up last night till 3:00 am, lol, but can't get my old system to work properly.
I took all the scales off thinking there might be a chip lodged in there somewhere but didn't find anything wrong.

I bought this unit for my lathe and I have been very happy with it. They are not magnetic scales, but I did get the slim optical scales in 1um resolution. They are quite slim. I did not need to, but many have cut the scales themselves with good success. Look at videos online.

It is really cheap which is a big plus.

I just ordered a 2 Axis DRO and scales off of Ebay. Many vendors selling the same thing. Some put them as sets with fixed lengths others you can pick how many and what length from a huge selection.

Thanks for the reply's . I checked out a bunch of videos about them, I was thinking on a known name brand and knew they were expensive, but WoW.

I messed around the next day with it thinking, can't screw it up any worse than it is now.
I took everything apart, Cleaned everything, slapped it all back together and it worked lol. I didn't find any chips or anything so I Don't know what it was, Guess it was having a bad day.
