where dit you place your cross slide DRO ?

I have a 9 X 20 lathe most of the pictures I have seen, had it mounted behind the cross slide, this would have taken up to much room for the tail stock. I didn't like the idea of putting it in the front of the cross slide where all the swarf and crap will fall on it so I made a bracket on the back of the cross slide so it sit inline on the end of the cross slide. I had to modify the chip guard to fit.
Will take a photo later to show what I mean.
