Ok I am stumped by the drill chuck wedges. I see #6 wedge set 13629 etc. etc. What is the difference between them? I have a JT3 & JT33 chucks. Is their a set that is kinda universal? HELP :headache::headache:

They will vary because of the different diameters for different tapers (J33 etc) or you can do what some of us have done and make your own if you have a milling machine. I used some oil hardening tool steel and made a couple to fit the Jacobs chuck I wanted to remove from the arbor. Worked fine == Jack

I made some also out of junk hot rolled from Menards.
I also bought a pair from Jacobs but they didn't work on my taper.

good to know -- thanks == Jack

#1 is about .437 wide
#2 is about .615 wide
#3 is about .865 wide
#6 is about .750 wide

The width of the slot in the wedge is all I've found. So you might measure the shaft diameter and purchase a wedge that clears it for each size chuck.
