Draftsight cost now too high

I have used draftsight for years. first it was free, then $100 a year, maybe a bit more last year. Just got a bill for $266 for the next year. Time to look around.

Suggestions for a cheap 2D drafting program that works like the old autocad?

Bricscad isn't cheep at first but it is a perpetual license and the yearly maintenance is reasonable if you want updates and after the first year not required if you do not. It is a DWG software and accepts all ACAD commands and LSP files.
