Do not see a lot of Barker posts but will give it a go.

I picked up two horizontal mills. one a Barker model PM. The other is only showing CMC Carbide Milling Company (Cleveland Ohio) Dual Grind. I find no other tag on the unit. The main unit is a match to the Barker but no Barker labels. It even sits on an original Barker cabinet.



I have searched the web for CMC dual grind and Carbide Milling Company but no results. Has any one knowledge or any info on CMC?

The motor looks like a DC motor (have not dug into wiring and voltage on it, only run it. )

That's a cleaner Barker than most I have seen- usually they are real greaseballs

I have a Barker. Mine has a rack on the Z instead of a dial. I've been working on the gibs. Neat little machines though. Did yours come with collets? The only 3c's I can find are Chinese. I'm not sure about the quality.

I wonder if CMC is a division of Leland Gifford because it sure looks like a Barker
