I've noticed that when you input a value for a guide line or a datum point, the app automatically convert to the units to the "default" units.
For example, my default units are imperial, but I'm the project I'm working on, is in metric. I press the "mm" radio button, and enter my coordinates... For this sake of simplicity, say they're X=1.00mm Y=1.00mm Z=1.00mm. When I save the datum, the values are converted to imperial, so now my values are X=0.0394" Y=0.0394" Z=0.0394".
Now, say I go back into the dialog to edit that datum. I select the "mm" radio button (because I'm working in metric), and change X to 1.5mm. If I save the datum now, my values become X=0.059" Y=0.0016" Z=0.0016". Because the other values didn't change, but the units did, 0.0394 inches becomes 0.0394mm.
This means that, if I'm working in different units than my default, I can't just edit one value. I have to edit them all, otherwise my datum is erroneous. This makes it really easy to make a mistake, and scrap a part.
I know that I can go into settings and change to "Metric Mode"... But I'm sure many/most of us work in different units for different projects (or on the same projects lol), and like it would be easier, and way less prone to error, if the "IN/MM" button in the function strip changed the units globally.
Maybe have the "mode" in settings dictate the active units at startup? Or, at least, have the unit selection within a datum be persistent?
