Does 10,000 PSI equal 10 tons? I can't do math to save my life but I looked at one formula, and came up with 4.464, 10K is still a lot of PSI....

Depends on the diameter of the cylinder. To get 10 tons (20,000 lbs) at 10,000 psi, the piston must have an area of 2 sq. in.
