Craftsman Lathe Estate Sale Find

I'd like to identify and date this lathe. Can't find a model number (101...) but perhaps you all can tell me what other questions to ask. Switch plate is branded MetalCraft with a 1937 patent date. The front bed is stamped. L5-907. 3/8 ways 8 tpi spindle, babbit bearings. Came from a woodworker's shop so there is a lot of sawdust to scrape off!

I have looked at the lathes.co.uk site, and I think they are in the right neighborhood. Based on their article I guess I'm looking at 1938 to 1943 ish.
 
Unless you can get it really cheap, I would pass. Parts prices for these old Atlas machines have increased
A machine with the newer roller bearing headstock is worth holding out for, IMO
