Craftsman 101.28910 3 jaw chuck

My lathe is finally running. I would like a 3 jaw chuck. What would be your recommendation on a economically priced, decent chuck?

Wait, do you own a four-jaw chuck? If not, then your first chuck should not be a 3-jaw. You really need both so I’d recommend a good independent 4-jaw be a first chuck, followed by the 3-jaw scroll chuck. Of course, you will also need a dial indicator and holder to allow you to true the stock in the 4-jaw chuck.
