I'm a newbie that just recently purchased a craftsman 6in 101.07301 metal lathe. I have not seen a chuck like this before. It acts like a drill press chuck. I can move the turned backplate and the chuck jaws move in an out. Is this a good chuck to use for milling some brass rod?
