Cowells Vertical milling machine

Hi, my stepdads uncle has recently passed away, and right up into his late 80s he was a skilled hobby machinist. My step dad has inherited the contents of his workshop, and as he works away i have been given it (obviously if he ever needs/wants to use it its free for his use lol).
we went up to go through it recently and its a bit of a treasure trove, included was an EMCO Compact 8, and a Cowells Vertical milling machine.
He was the type to keep everything maintained and tip top and he'd had the EMCO since new so should have plenty of life left in each.
other than lathes.co.uk i cant find a huge amount about them, does anyone have one? i know there only small but what is the max working capacity roughly? does anyone know of a PDF manual available free?
any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
