I would not use mist at all, it gets over everything, and you will breath that stuff, not healthy for you. Out of the two, flood would be my choice.

What Paul said.

Mist is intended for machines that aren't set up for flood coolant, as in they have no provision to catch the excess coolant.

My Logan 6560 has a full length chip tray with a drain for coolant. I am wiring a control panel so I think I will add a contactor for a coolant pump. Will those small submersible pumps you get at the hardware store work?

Just a note on the mist coolant. Normal soluble, semi and full synthetic coolant that are designed for flood coolant should never be used in a mist system. Some are chlorinated and are definitely a hazard to breathe. There are mist coolants designed specifically for the purpose, and they don't linger in the air as long as the flood type, nor are they considered hazardous on the lungs. I use a mist system at times, and use Kool-Mist brand coolant. No problems with it.
