Compact 5 Question

As I have been looking for parts for my compact 5 I keep coming across a Plotter Paper holder Attachment. What is it for? What did it do? I have not been able to find any documentation on this accessory. I'm pretty sure I don't need one, I just can't wrap my head around what it did.

I've seen a pic of one of those bolted to the tail end of a Compact 5 CNC lathe. Not sure what it plotted though.

Looks like a HD fancy tp holder/scratch pad

I mean I can see if there was some sort of Plotter Pen tool holder it could draw out the profile I have programmed to cut. But looking where it would bolt to the lathe, I have know idea what that would look like.

Holy guacamole it really was to draw out your profile. I found a small thumbnail pic that shows the paper holder, Some, what I know, are plotter pens, and am I crazy or is that a plotter pen tool holder. (or rather a "plotter pen tool" that would mount in the tool holder)
