Found this while online, thought it was a good ref (I'm new to it). Wasn't sure where it would be appropriate to post it so I'm just going to drop it in the beginners forum: http://www.techniksusa.com/metal/torque_chart.htm

You're ok, I've linked to that page here a number of times.

Most people do not realize how much torque is recommended for ER collets. I was surprised myself. I have no way of measuring how much I torque mine but I know it's not as much as that page recommends.
