Hello all,

I am new here and here is a link to my intro

http://www.hobby-machinist.com/showthread.php/9071-North-Carolina-guy-here

As it says I program from home on a part time basis. I love machinig and just want to put out there that I can assist anyone in this area. If you want to do some 3d stuff for fun give me a print/sketch and I'll send you a file on it. If you guys ever need anything just let me know. Let the chips fall where they may:))

hi phil and welcome
i'd be interested in asking a few questions as soon as i get caught up with some of my cnc conversions and can give the subject the time it requires. i have no problem with 2.5 code but i have yet to do anything 3d and havent tried to learn yet because i wanted my equipment right first. I have a 4 axis mill and i'm probably going to add a 5th axis to tilt the head soon.

We have 4 horizontal 4 axis machines and a large bridge style 5 axis that I have done a lot of programming on. The 3 axis surfacing isn't too bad after you learn how to set up the tools and cutting processes for it. Now the 5 axis is a whole different animal as the tooling orientation has to be vectored to a surface. Looking forward to it Just let me know.
