How often do you (or would you like to) mount your CNC milling vise upright?
I realize 99% of the time you mount it flat on it's back. I have no specific task, just generally milling as I get into this hobby. Trying to keep my options open as determine how important this feature is to me on my manual benchtop mill, 8" x 33" table. Seems like there's no down side. You can mount it either way vs a standard milling vise that has a lip/flange on the bottom with mounting holes.
Maybe this configuration is about as common as using your swivel base... which I gather only see less than 1% of usage.
Plus, it seems like you have more flexibility in mounting location how far front or back you put it on your table since you aren't locked into the bolt holes in the flange on a typical vise. Though I imagine, you don't have to use those, you can just use screw downs anywhere on the flange.
Also think, in this scenario, a 4" or 5" vise is actually better than a 6", since you really lose z height when mounted upright. 6" on my mill is likely too big anyway. Other than that 4" seems like it's more common size for accessories... if that even means anything.
