I have been poking around looking for a way to retrofit adjustable blade guides on the saw I have. Currently the only adjustment for the guides is horizontal width. Unfortunately that doesn't help with the blade not cutting straight vertically.

Are there any guides for modifications or am I just better off replacing the saw with something that is already adjustable?

There aren't any adjustments at the guides on most 4x6s to correct that AFAIK
Often other factors can cause the blade to wander like blade type, condition and tension

Sometimes the saw pivot isn't made correctly and the saw descends at an angle
No easy fix for that but it can be fixed if you want to put some work into it

On some machines a new blade will make the problem vanish

These machines are pretty sloppily made so MODs are often required. Make yourself a new guide that you can adjust. Maybe just a bit of filing or grinding on the mating surfaces will work.

In this image you can clearly see an adjustable blade guide.

Actually I can't see. But the saw can be made to cut straight. What ever adjustments there are may not go far enough but can be modified to work.
