Churchill NB Surface Grinder help request please.

I recently acquired a very forlorn Churchill NB Surface Grinder and have a question if someone could help with. I think the main shaft has a Wheel Adapter installed, photos attached. I made an Adapter Puller and sprayed the 'Adapter' with WD40 but was unable to shift it. I tried carefully heating it (too hot to touch) but it remains firmly attached. Now, I'm assuming what I'm looking at is, in fact, a Wheel adapter and not just part of the actual shaft but I have no manual / Picture to check. I emailed Tony at Lathes.co.uk asking to purchase a manual but got no reply. Serial # is NB25956 if needed and I would really appreciate if anyone could help since I definately don't want to damage the shaft.

All the replies were lost with the SQL Server crash. With them, I managed to get the adaptor off so all is well and 'back to the cleaning'! Ugh!!
