Guys,
I made a chip guard for my G4000 Grizzly 9x19 lathe. Pictures are below. Support bearings are made out of aluminum stock. The pivot rod is tool steel rod 3/8" diameter. Acrylic was bent using hot air gun. I misaligned the support bearings to create tightness so that the chip guard stays wherever positioned.
So far it looks OK but need to try using it while turning some job. I may have to cut a couple of inches to prevent it from getting close to carriage hand wheel.
