Cell phone holder

The owner of the dance studio I shoot the performances for texted me to see if I could bring my tripod and if I had anything to hold cell phones for them to video the performance I am shooting tomorrow (I do the still photography). She bought a couple tripods and holders last year, but can’t find them. Well, when you ask an engineer turned photographer with a machine shop in his basement if he has anything, he just might cobble something together.

I came up with this contraption and it might actually work!

Funny twist to the story, I wake up to a text from the studio owner, she went to the fridge to get something and the missing holder was at her feet. Apparently her cats found it and were playing with it. Well, at least I now have a cell phone tripod holder if I want to video anything with it, that is until my daughter “borrows” it.
