Carriage Stops?

These came mixed in with the tooling when I got my Clausing 5914 about 20 years ago. Came across them a few days ago while doing some cleaning and thought they might come in handy. Guess I had never looked at them closely before, they don't fit my lathe. So now I'm questioning whether they're even carriage stops and what machine do they fit? No part numbers to be found and they're a matched pair of RH and LH. Apparently I don't have any use for them so hoping to figure out what they will fit so I can find them a new home.

Definately look like carriage stops and nicely made. Can you make new parts to make fit your lathe so their useful to you? Nice little project.

How would they clamp to the ways?

We would need to have the critical dimensions to determine if they fit a different lathe.

Here's a shot to get an idea of the size of them. The threads are M10-1.5 LH. Another thing that's different from other carriage stops that I've dealt with is that the spindles don't move in and out when rotated.
The metric threads reminded me of something that may be a hint to this mystery . I bought my Clausing from my employer and prior to them selling it they had sold a Gateway lathe. I actually ended up with what I assume is the steady rest for the Gateway, something else that's not doing me any good.

Look further in the box where you found them. The missing parts may be in there.

They've been living in the storage area that's under the tailstock for the last 20 years, I pulled everything out a few days ago. There were some interesting treasures in there, but nothing that will mate to these beauties.

I think that I've figured out what these are. First, I goofed on the name of the lathe that I thought they might fit. It was a Goodway, not a Gateway. Reading about Goodway I found that they were copied from an Okuma. I was able to find one picture of an Okuma that shows these. It looks like they are a fine adjustment for the carriage stops.
