I have a Carolina HD10 band saw. The bronze gear in the rt. angle gear box was bad when I bought it. They don't sell just the gear. Has anyone ever put some sort of different rt. angle gear box on a saw like this. I know its under driven.I could do that with pulleys and belt. I haven't got a response on the cost of a new gear box. I'll bet its way more than the $250 I paid for the saw. I was just wanting to see if anyone has done this.KCR

Carolina HD 10 band saw gear box

I have an HD-10, although here in Canada its referred to as the Global industrial equipment HD-10. Im fairly certain that the gear box has been replaced on mine. The gear reduction is 50:1. It appears they simply Re-drilled the holes to align with the new gear box. I know people may say that these saws are junk, but mine cuts square and I paid $150 for it. Works for me! I recently refreshed it, not sure if there's saws came with tires, but I added some and a coolant system.
