Hi, guys.

Question. I have two different size triangle shape, three cutting edges type carbide inserts. How do I figure out the sizing or classification?
I would like to buy some new inserts but the sizes are not written anywhere.

Thank you,

Hutch

Yep, need pics.

You can get the IC by finding what size diameter rod just touches (tangent) to each side.

We need a REAL CLOSE pic of the side to see if its positive or negative rake

A lot of the big supply houses have online data for carbide inserts, have you tried doing a google search? Carbide Depot for one has gobs of info.

Thank you for the replies guys.

The large one measures, .157 thick and .620 corner to corner.

The smaller one measures, .093 thick and .405 corner to corner.

I'll try the site you guys suggested.

So, I looked up some charts and I think I got a handle on it.
