My first attempt at single point threading by making a captive nut puzzle. Thought it might be a good way to learn how to use our new lathe. Not perfect, but turned out better than I thought it would.IMG_0732.JPGIMG_0733.JPG

a+ here. good job. im gonna make a few for xmas gifts next week. . .

Nice work there lineman, I feel the need to make one of those, it will challenge my abilities somewhat...

Thank you all for the compliments. Good idea for use as Christmas presents, might make a few more. Other than the nut they just made from 5/8" cut-offs from power pole cross arm bolts. Lots of free material available that would normally go into the scrap hopper.

Funny this subject just came up, its been on my mind this week to make a box of them & place on
the local hardware store counter. Maybe knurled polished brass.
