I have a bridgeport series 1 2 hp variable speed. I believe it it’s mid to late 70’s machine. I am trying to remove the feed trip lever from the bottom. I keep reading, on various forums to remove the jam nut. There is no visible nut bolt pin etc anywhere. I picked up 2 of these mills same place and vintage. I checked both of them. Nothing there. Please help. Thanks in advance.

The only jamb nut that I know of is the depth stop jamb nut but, there are a bunch of fiddly little parts that make the trip lever work. Check out this assembly video and exploded parts list, they should help!

Thanks I thought I watched all of mr walker’s videos. Missed this one. I also received h and w delivery after posting LOL. So I still don’t know how to remove lever. I removed the reverse ,dumbbell, trip, pulled set screw in bottom and removed c clip. I tried some mild persuasion by bumping the quill hand feed and tapping the trip lever. Just don’t want to pry it out and cause complications. Prying may be the answer but confirmation would be nice. Thanks

There should be a set screw/pivot pin on the side of the housing that holds the trip lever in place.

I don’t see anything. Lever seems like it’s pivoting on something in the middle. This where the jam nut is supposed to be.

I watched the videos Keith Fenner did recently of his Bridgeport overhaul. I seem to remember him talking about the trip lever. You might try watching those. He goes into a good bit of detail explaining what he's doing as he reassembles everything.

Should be just to the left side of the notch asmarked in the picture

Thanks Telford the help. Soaked the lever with some Kroil last night. Put the heat gun on the area this morning. So got pretty cold with the new year. Pushed down on quill handle and it slid right out. On to the rest of the problems.
