Can someone measure the bolt circle for the j head where it bolts onto the ram

I am building an adapter to install a J head onto a round ram

Also what type of steel should I make the adapter out of would A36 be strong enough
I found a piece 1" thick 6" diameter

Should be tuff enough steel, same stuff they use for target gongs I think. If holds up being shot , should be good enough to hold a Bridgeport.

Hey Sean mine is still removed from the ram. If I can figure out how to measure it I will do that for you.

I get 6-1/2" across outside edges of the bolt holes. Mind you this isn't using a caliper as mine didn't quite reach across. The bolts are about .490 in diameter. The bolt holes are .520 to .525

Hopefully that helps a bit.
