I have a 6F powerfeed that I just tore down to replace the drive gear. But now I am having trouble getting the helical gear on the motor to mesh with the gear. Any tricks for doing this correctly?

EDIT: I think I figured out what the problem is, and for now, it will not get fixed any time soon.

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the pinion depth on the motor? I think that might be the issue. It’s either too far in or not out enough. Similar to the way you would shim a pinion in a differential.

Change of plans. The problem was the replacement gear I bought was mislabeled. Instead of the standard torque gear with 51 teeth this is actually a high torque gear with 58 teeth.

New and proper gear (I hope) is on the way.
