Brand New Clausing Micrometer Carriage Stop - $1 (santa rosa)

In the body of the ad they are actually asking $180, not $1.

Is that like a real fast up front bait-'n-switch?

Pretty common on Craigslist. I'm not sure why but some sellers just put $1 but are asking more, when I see something listed like that I know the price is in the ad.

I didn't catch the price in the ad or I would have corrected the title. In fact, given the asking price, I probably wouldn't have bothered to post it.
I have a couple of micrometer stops for a Heavy 10 I'll gladly part with for $150 ea.

I think they do it to get past price filters. So if someone puts in a max of $50, the $1 in the title will still come up.

What I see many times with batches of stuff is they will show the price for the lowest price item but list it under the most expensive item. Slightly less deceptive I guess.

1999 Ford F150 $2

Then in body of the ad
Ford F150 $6000
Lawn mower $150
Box of pencils $2

Yeah, that isn't too far away from me so for $1 I thought. I might be able too make it work on my lathe. For $180, I'm back to I can make one

Pretty sure I have met that seller, he always has stuff listed on CL. I stopped by for one item and he has a couple barns and a bunch of cargo containers full of machining and blacksmith stuff. High prices, though, so I didn’t buy much more than the piece I wanted. When I left, he said ‘next time bring some money’. I thought, ’next time you be ready to sell something’. Everything is for sale, but not really, unless you make him feel good about giving it up.
