I recently bought two books to maybe improve my understanding of two machining operations that I am ± capable of doing. Or at least I have some of the equipment to do. Precision Dividing by Harrold Hall. I haven read it yet, just skimmed though. Seems OK. Screw cutting on the lathe by Martin Cleeve. I've skipped through and read a few sections. I was particularly interested in cutting buttress or Acme Threads. From what I've read so far this book seems well written by someone with considerable practical experience. They are cheap books new and also available used but the book construction is on the cheap side.
Added to my book shelf for those too cold to anything else days coming this winter.
