Blue DRO Question

I already have Touch/Blue DRO on one of my mills and am in the process of installing the Same I-gage Scales on the second mill. I am considering another Blue DRO box for the second mill. First time I bought the complete Blue DRO assy. Now I have been giving some thought to just buying the kit. What skills are required with building the kit other than Soldering? Does it come Pre-Programed, or will I have to do that? For the price it looks like the complete ASSY is a better deal.

I’d check the TouchDRO website but I’m pretty sure the necessary software is loaded onto the board so basically just assemble and go.
