Bison chuck

What are these allen head screws for? It's a Bison, 3-jaw, self centering chuck. There are two larger and one smaller aligned with each of the jaws.

I would imagine that those screws are for assembling/disassembling the chuck? I did not see any screw on the face in the photo that you uploaded.

While I don't know the model of your chuck the cut away diagrams in the manuals which I looked at all showed the screws that you are asking about.
They are well done manuals for a great chuck!! Lots of data in there worthy of study.

The technical term for the screws used for disassembly are "forcing screws." Usually, they are threaded full length, and often have hex heads.
