Bench Top Mill

Looking for anyone/everyone's opinion on what is the better/best bench top mill for under $3,000?

I'm considering on buying one but am having a hard time deciding what is worth the money without having to go industrial size.

I just went thru this. I was researching for months and was going to get the Grizzly G0704. However, I got lucky with a local machine shop selling a Johansson B12 small knee vertical mill in excellent condition.

Do not get a round-column mill unless you think you'll like tramming the mill all the time. Get the highly respected G0704 and with the $ left over buy all the accessories and tooling to get going. It comes with its own stand but you could bench mount it. If I didn't find the Johansson I would have went with the 704.

I've been looking at all the Grizzly's small mills and a few others. So far i'm leaning towards the G0704 myself, but I really like the G0729 as it looks to be a ???"better built"??? machine but it's almost three times the price of the G0704.

I took them into serious consideration and purchased the G0704 and shoud be arriving soon.
I will post pics once I have it set up and will provide the details of the urgency in needing this equipement.
