I have been looking for used engine lathes and mills on the internet. I haven't had a lot of luck. I have read of people that have attended auctions and done very well picking up machines at good prices. Where do you look for auctions or used equipment that will be going to auction. I'm 3 hrs from St. Louis and 6 hrs fro KC. It would seem that there would be lots of machinery in these places. I am looking for a smaller mill, and a 12 X 36 or 13 X 40 lathe. I would appreciate any ideas.
 
I've never had luck with eBay. Craigslist yielded me a lathe and surface grinder...
