If anyone with a 101.07403 or other early Craftsman 12" that does NOT use the 96T gears needs a MOLO (Atlas Manual of Lathe Operations), there is one on eBay this morning. Item # 151877184492 Opening bid $20.00.

In the several years that I have followed the MOLO on eBay, to my knowledge this seller is the first ever to include enough information in his ad to correctly identify the version.

Interesting... Not to threadjack, but how does one tell which is which? I picked one up earlier this month (for my 618, but whatever, it's all they had it seems) and was very pleasantly surprised... the box it came in wasn't just a random box the bookseller added but the original Atlas box and came with this nifty little pamphlet in it:

but how does one determine the edition? I don't see any of the typical "3rd print of the second revision" kind of things I'd expect. Same 1937 Edition page, no revisions listed, it is a 'pure' Atlas version (not Craftsman) and the threading section (as he pictures that specifically I assume that's the identifier) is not listed "supplement" but is however numbered separately from the rest of the book:

Matt,

Go up to the Sticky threads area at the top of this Forum and click on the thread that begins "History of the Atlas MOLO...". Download or open the two PDF attachments. One is a brief history of the contents of the MOLO and the other a Model to MOLO selection chart. The copy that you have is a 1937V4 and could have been printed any time between about 1940 and 1954. The Threading Supplement pages in 7 - Threading were not re-paginated (re-numbered) until the edition of1955.

All of the printings, editions or versions up through 1954 say "Copyright 1937" and there is no clue in the books as to what year it was actually printed. In 1955, the print years back to 1937 and an edition number (16) were added. In subsequent editions, a new year was added to the end of the history list, and the edition number is incremented
