This is an Atlas MK2 10100 lathe project I started a few months ago. The lathe came from an auction and has very little wear on it. Mods done are a variable speed reversing treadmill motor, variable speed electric lead screw, new cross slide with a solid tool post and rear mount parting tool, larger cross slide dial and new hand wheel. Just started using it and am pretty happy with the results

A MK2 Bathroom break?? interesting naming nomenclature...

Looks like a nice machine for the size of it.

I have one and it has served me pretty well, the redesigned headstock is both it's best and worst feature
The backgear system is nice, but the pulley drive is weak and a wear point due to the single woodruff key

While that may be true, fixing it only requires purchase or loan of the appropriate broach set and a few minutes of labor. If I were doing it I would go ahead and broach three key-ways at 90 degrees.
