Just wanted to share my latest acquisition. This popped up on marketplace for $100. I tried to get it cheaper but he wouldn't budge. I believe it's all complete, including the belt guard, and the vertical cutting plate. Well it is missing the upper tire.

Speaking of the vertical cutting plate. I got to looking at it and it looks like it's on backwards. So I looked at the manual and it shows it's correct. Man that thing is so small I don't see what it's good for. I wonder if I could come up with some kind of quick connect plate the could be easily took off and on?

The funny thing is I just got a Craftsman version about a month ago. But it's not a convertible model. Can't have too many bands saws, right,,,lol. I guess set one up for steel and one for aluminum.

Great score. I have that exact same saw, including the (unmounted) guard. It branded Craftsman Commercial and it's machine grey. As much I love it, it leaves me wanting more. It does what's asked of it if reasonable and the table, while lacking, is still a 'table', despite the inconvenience. Can still get blades from MC.

Have the Craftsman version of the saw. Tires are still available. Be careful of the plastic bevel gear that drives the main wheel. It’s easy to have the blade jam into it and strip the teeth. Don’t use any cutting lub on the blade. It will cause the blade to jump off the wheels. On the idle wheel there is a spacer between the wheel and frame that slightly tips the wheel. If the blade keeps jumping off the wheels it may be on backwards.

Looks like a nice score for a Ben. I got a Kalamazoo for $50 a couple of years ago, albeit in much worse shape. I did restore it to perfect working order. It was for a work project so didn't post the rebuild here, yet...
