Found an Atlas 3950 that looks pretty good, but not sure about the price. The owner is calling it a 618 Mk2, but the plate shows it is a 3950. From the pics it looks like it might be the cast iron headstock instead of the Zamak. Is it worth what they are asking? Anyone have this model? http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/tls/4406311428.html

Thanks,

I would not pay that much for a 6" lathe with that amount of tooling and such. I think for a little more you could find a larger lathe with more tooling ...I am not saying it's not worth it ,just that It's not worth it to me !

BK,

I would say no. Not to put down anyone's Mk2 but it isn't a 618 even if it's been converted from 3950 to 10100 by replacing the headstock. $800 for a 618 with motor and no tooling or accessories other than two chucks and a live center would be high except maybe for one still in the original crate.
