Hello,
I just joined the group and have a question regarding my Atlas 10F-28 lathe.
I plan on a complete disassembly in the near future and would like to know if there is a procedure to align the headstock on reassembly?
I have done a number of searches and haven't found anything on the topic so my assumption is there isn't.
There isn't a name plate on the lathe nor is there any evidence that there ever was one.
There is a 10F-28 on the casting of the gear guard cover but no other markings that I have found.
I inherited this about 30 years ago from a neighbor who was a machinist. I've used it from time to time over the years but always wanted to do a restoration. I just want to get as much information as I can before starting.
Thanks,
Steve
