Hello all , I trust you had nice holidays . Mine were extra good , I scored this drill press a pair of cast iron Atlas lathe legs and fixed up my little work space .
Sorry about the patch mud on the walls after the second coat of paint it looks pretty good .
The DP I got back in Nov . It had lots of rust , base was frozen but I got that unstuck . Head is still frozen , I gave up but that's OK I don't need to move it . Column had some bad rust and pitted . Sand paper and WD worked wonders , table not too bad cleaned up nice . Nuts , bolts , levers and stuff got the Evap O Rust treatment . Some of the column and spindle wedges (Zamack) were frozen , when driving them out with a drift punch they shattered so I made new ones out of Alum. Of course everything got Kroiled . OK , I went overboard with this thing $$s wise , first the DP I paid pretty much max for . Then I got the speed reducer , then I bought the compound table , last the table riser and paid max for it all . I'm happy .

Looks quite nice. I have one of those X-Y positioner tables.. The square table top itself also fits the cross slide pintle on the Atlas 10F and both types of 12" lathes plus in place of the vise on the milling attachments for the 10F, and later 3/8" bed and all 1/2" bed 12".
