Hi all,
I am used to threading upside down and backwards on my Grizzly lathe. This works great for me, especially with inside threads.
I recently got an old 10100 Atlas 6 x 18 lathe which has a threaded spindle. This makes cutting in reverse unwise, due to the possibility of the chuck spinning off.
I'd like to somehow firmly attach an adapter plate to the spindle. I've thought of tack welding or red locktite. Chucks with bolts through the face can be changed without removing the adapter so different types of chucks can be used if I can find them. I have one 3" 3 jaw chuck like that, but no others.
I'd rather do something like a setscrew, pin, or ?? that can allow the plate to be removed so I can use the chucks that I already have.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Phil
