Hi all, can someone please help me with what the speed should be for a 1/4" x 1" woodruff cutter, I'm cutting 1 1/4 garden tracter axle.
I cut a slot, 112 spindle speed does that sound right

That would be only about 35 SFPM, way slow if the material is plain CRS, it could be run at twice that speed, or faster, but that depends on the rigidity of the machine and setup. I would probably look for a cutting speed of around 80 FPM. Figure cutting speed in FPM times 4, divided by the diameter of the moving part., the easy way is to get a slide rule cutting speed calculator, the cutting tool companies gave them away in the olden days. Mine was made for Kennametal, the price was fifty cents, this was probably over 50 years ago.

(Cutting Speed x 4)/diameter
(80x4)/1=320
320 rpm, assuming C1018 mild steel (CRS).

My misread of cutting tool diameter, but importantly, we are referring to a light duty machine with a questionable attachment that may not be up to using optimum speeds without chatter and other problems.
