Ash wood Mallets

Found these mallets in my waiting to be finished stuff. Finished them, and will be using them in the future. They are both made of Ash wood, the choice of mallet makers for ages. I faced them with heavy leather, to keep them from marring surfaces of wood projects. Have one yet to finish, a dead blow mallet.

what adhesive did you use for the leather ? those look too nice to hit anything with. . .
