Got the beast home. Armor 5H milling machine, eye Candy:

at home right side mill.jpgl side home.jpgHorz Arbor Support.jpg

Horizontal motor is missing. Seems 1 to 1.5 hp is an appropriate size. It can with one horz milling arbor for 1". But wrong taper. I included a pic of the horizontal arbor support. I measured the hole, it is 1.5" diameter. I guess that means whatever size horz arbors I end up with (1", 1.25", and slit saw size), each arbor will need to have a cylinder with matching 1.5" on the end to fit the arbor support. I know the support is on the wrong side of the support column at this time. Does the end of the horz arbor just go into the support hole, or are ball bearings used. I'm new to this.

Looks pretty cool to me!

Looks like a sturdy unit. Is the overarm diameter 2"? if so there are a couple vertical heads you could mount on it and turn it into a combo H/V mill.

This mill does have the hydraulic system in the base. I do not know if it is working or not. I want to remove it and check it out, repair as needed. There is a piston under the longitudinal table connected to the hydraulics.

The milling machine did come with a vertical milling head. We removed it before transport to lower center of gravity.

Also, thanks for pointing out the bronze insert for the horizontal support. It is not so visable, but does show in the photo.
