Has anyone by any chance used these scales yet with touchDRO? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095145F83/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=AEFIH46YKMCN4&th=1

I have my touchDRO running on my mill with the igauging scales now for about 5 years but I am sick of the capacitive scales playing up (if they get any dirt or oil on them they will have a point where they suddenly jump by a few CM).

keen to get these scales and then make a DIY board (would buy Yuri's premade boards but delivery to South Africa is not reliable unless I use guys lie amazon.

I have the texas instruments MSP430 Launchpad development board that I bought back in 2015 or so and never got around to using as I built my own Arduino interface (so I also have the bluetooth modules).

If Yuri is able to answer this:
Does the current binary files for the TI board work if I hook it up as described here: https://www.yuriystoys.com/2014/01/connecting-glass-dro-scales-to.html

Also if I want to add the techometer function how would I hook that up to the MSP430 Launchpad board?

These look like basic run-of-the-mill Chinese glass scales, so they should work with TouchDRO. The firmware in the downloads section works with these. You might be able to get away with a simple resistor divider circuit, but I would "splurge" for a 5V-to-3V buffer (i.e. follow the schematic of the DIY adapter kit).

Regards
Yuriy

Hey Yuri - do you have a schematic for the DIY adapter kit? I dont see it on your website however there are a lot of pages hey!

It's on the "Specifications" tab of the adapter store page (there is a lot of other useful info there too).
By the way, I still have a bunch of bare PCBs. If anyone is interested, they are $10 shipped anywhere in the states (international shipping is stupid expensive and slow, so it might not be practical to ship outside of the USA)

Thanks Yuri, I would order but not only is postage expensive to South Africa, but our local post office has all but gone bung, if a parcel arrives at all it will take 6 to 9 months. So it is courier or nothing for me.

Hi Yuriy, do you still have the bare PCBs available (for the MSP430G2553 microcontroller)? If so, what would be the mechanism to order?

I don't have any of the old PCBs. Also, I would not recommend MSP430 for anything. ESP32 is better in every regard.
